MeT Srinagar Issues Updated Forecast Till March 15th, Farmers Alerted
Over the past 24 hours, the picturesque Kashmir Valley experienced a diverse range of weather phenomena, including moderate rain and snowfall, alongside heavy to very heavy rainfall in the plains and snow over the higher altitudes.
This amalgamation of precipitation was accompanied by fluctuating maximum wind speeds across different regions of the valley, with Kupwara recording winds of 36 KMPH, Bandipora at 32 KMPH, Srinagar at 22 KMPH, Anantnag at 40 KMPH, Jammu at 62 KMPH, Udhampur at 52 KMPH, and Samba at 54 KMPH.
Additionally, hailstorms made their presence felt in various areas, including Banihal, Batote, Baderwah, and Jammu, adding an extra dimension to the weather dynamics.
Looking ahead, the forecast for March 3rd indicates a continuation of the mixed weather patterns, with partly to generally cloudy conditions expected throughout the day.
There is a possibility of intermittent light rain or snow at scattered places towards the afternoon or late afternoon, albeit for a brief period. However, beyond March 3rd, the weather is anticipated to remain relatively calm, with no significant weather activities expected until March 10th.
During this period, there might be sporadic occurrences of light rain or snow at scattered places, particularly during the night of March 6th to 7th. However, the real weather activity is predicted to pick up again between March 12th and 14th, with fresh spells of rain or snow forecasted to sweep across the valley.
In response to these weather forecasts, authorities have issued several advisories to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and visitors alike.
Travelers and tourists planning to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir are advised to plan their journeys meticulously and adhere to administrative and traffic police advisories to avoid any unforeseen disruptions.
